Shipping Policy

Every order matters. I pack each plant with care and do my best to make sure it arrives safely and in good condition.

This policy explains where I ship, how delivery works, and what happens if something goes wrong in transit. It applies to consumer purchases from Nordic Plant Diary in the EU.

1. Where I ship

I currently ship within the European Union (EU), and within Finland.

If your country isn't shown at checkout, I'm not able to ship there yet.

2. Dispatch schedule

Plants ship every Monday and Tuesday to avoid transit over the weekend when possible. Orders are shipped on the next available Monday or Tuesday after they're placed.

You'll receive a tracking number through Shopify once your order is dispatched.

If I expect a meaningful delay, for example due to weather or route safety, I'll let you know.

3. Carriers and shipping options

I ship with UPS for orders across the EU, and with Posti for orders within Finland.

Available options are shown at checkout and may vary by destination and season.

Typical transit times after dispatch:

  • Standard UPS (summer only): around 4 to 6 days, with the longest routes such as Portugal at around 6 days.
  • Express UPS (year-round): around 1 to 2 days.
  • Posti (Finland only): around 1 to 3 business days.

These are estimates based on normal conditions. Standard works well for most destinations, even on longer routes. Express is recommended if you're in a country far from Finland (like Portugal) and want your plant to arrive within the same week.

Once a parcel is with the carrier, delivery is in their hands. Delays can happen, especially during bad weather, peak periods, or local disruptions, and these are outside my control.

4. Shipping costs

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on destination and selected method. Heat packs and seasonal insulation are included in the shipping cost when needed.

5. Cold weather shipping

Live plants need extra care when it's cold. The rules I follow:

  • Below 5°C at destination: a heat pack is added automatically.
  • Below freezing at destination: shipments are held until temperatures are safe, and I'll notify you.
  • During winter: only Express shipping is available.

If your order is held due to cold weather, you can cancel it at any time during the hold under the cancellation terms in my [Refund Policy].

6. Plant protection during transit

I use season-appropriate packing methods to reduce stress during transport and help plants arrive in good shape.

7. Correct address and parcel collection

To help your order arrive safely, please:

  • Enter correct delivery details
  • Follow tracking updates
  • Collect the parcel promptly when pickup is required

If a parcel is returned to me because of incorrect address details, refusal, missed delivery, or failure to collect on time, I can't take responsibility for any damage or loss to the plant during the return transit or while it's awaiting return. In those cases, the plant is not covered by the live arrival guarantee, and refunds or replacements for the plant itself are not provided. If you'd like the order re-shipped, that's possible at your cost, provided the plant is still in shippable condition.

8. Customs and import fees

Shipments within the EU don't usually involve customs. If your destination has any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees, those are your responsibility as the customer.

9. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect

Please email me within 24 hours of delivery at veera@nordicplantdiary.com.

Include:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photos of the package and plant
  • A short description of the issue

I'll review the case and work with you on a fair solution in line with my [Refund Policy] and applicable consumer law.

10. Policy updates

I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always published in the store.
